As a pediatrician, I encounter a lot of children with nose, sinus and throat infections. Medications are helpful in reducing the symptoms of cold and flu but have side effects, for example, drowsiness (antihistamines), nose bleeds (intranasal steroids), liver and kidney problems (from excessive use of acetaminophen and ibuprofen respectively). NeilMed products do not contain the chemical ingredients found in these commonly used medications and hence are free of side effects and are easy to use.
In a role of pediatric nephrologist, I see abundant number of patients with post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis, IgA nephropathy etc, which are very commonly preceded by nose, sinus and throat infections. Most of these bacterial and viral infections have a propensity to attack kidneys as well secondarily. Hence, I always address the primary prevention by using NeilMed products to my parents and patients. Overall, it also eventually reduces the health care cost burden, preventing the patients from getting chronic diseases of nose, throat and sinus and other organs, including the kidneys.
